Granite Bay Hills Neighbors:
Your Board of Directors has approved a plan to mitigate fire danger and manage/maintain the common area trees in our community. They have been working with a master arborist in developing these plans with the first phase to begin in February. The approved three-year plan is a proactive effort to reduce our risk from fire and removing trees that put us at risk of falling. On February 25-26, 2021, The Grove Tree Service will be removing cottonwood trees located in our park. The Master Arborist at The Grove has recommended these be removed due to visible risks and (as we have all experienced) the significant mess caused in the springtime.
The next phase will occur as soon as the final bids are reviewed and will include a 10-foot clearing around homes that are next to the preserve areas; raising canopies on trees; and clearing dead brush and ladder fuels along Barton Road. We anticipate this effort will be a phased 3-year project. The pace will be dependent on funds allocated and the quantity of work needed over this time period.
As soon as we evaluate the bids, make a tree service company selection and set a schedule, your Board of Directors will communicate this to you via email.
Thank you for your support. During these two-days of work, the park should be avoided so The Grove Tree Service can complete their work safely.
Sincerely,
